PRE- INTERNATIONAL DRUGS DAY Sh150, 000 was given out by Hassan Joho Foundation to the Kaderboy dispensarycommittee to cater for medical attention,in a camp meant to offer medical attention to the ones affected by drugs in coast province. The camp was organized by Kaderboy dispensary in partnership with Hassan Joho Foundation, Sharif Nassir Foundation and Council of Imams and Preachers in Kenya (CIPK). The theme of this year`s world drug day is World Global Action For Community Without Drugs. With the slogan Say no to drugs. “Jambola (NACADA) kusambazashindanokwawaathiriwawadawazakulevyanijambo la kuungamkonousambazajiwamadawayakulevyanaombakanuniya 1994 yamadawayakulevyaifuatwe” said shekhkhalifa He bitterly spoke against the police who release drug dealers without bringing them to book. Mombasa being an area that is greatly affected by drug addicts, the action of National Campaign Against Drug Addicts (NACADA) giving syringes to drug addicts was greatly spoken against saying it’s a way of encouraging drug abuse. “Naomba(NACADA)iangalienjiambadalayakupunguzamadawa” added shekhkhalifa. “Tuachekuwalaumunakunyooshavidolekwawadungewa Mombasa.” “Tushikamane ne tudumisheamaninatupiganekatika vita dhidiyamadawayakulevya.” Said the Mayor AkmedMohdhar. He further said that he has made some achievement in the fight against drugs among them being arresting drug peddlers in the area and bringing them to book with joint help from his informers. The mayor said that there is enough money in the council to cater for drug abuse cases. We should not look at syringes only but in his views a rehab for the women should be built in Mombasa.
